Members of The Irish Packaging Society were delighted to have been able to join Managing Director Joseph Doherty at Regen Waste recently as guests at the WPO World Packaging Organisation seminar on Extended Producer Responsibility. As a group we had fantastic exposure to what is happening across the world with EPR and it was a timely check in for TIPS members on how the outlook is changing across the UK and Ireland. A great message from both Joseph Doherty of Re-Gen and Nerida Kelton of the World Packaging Organisation was that packaging technologists should always take some time to visit a Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) to see the challenges involved in recycling the packaging you place on the market – and that’s exactly what we were all able to do on the day, Site visits are something we in The Irish Packaging Society (TIPS) plan to organize for our membership so keep checking our social media and website for upcoming events and information.
